Stop Child Abuse
- An intention to harm: intention suggests that the harm caused by bullying is deliberate, not accidental.[2]
- Victimization distress: bullying causes the victim to suffer mild to severe psychological, social or physical trauma.[2]
- Repetition: bullying is persistent; it happens more than once or has the potential to occur multiple times.[2]
- Power inequity: definitions of bullying often state that bullying includes a real or perceived imbalance of power between the bully and the victim. This characteristic is disputed, as both bullies and victims have reported that the conflict and/or behaviors most commonly occur
- Approximately 5 children die every day because of child abuse.
- 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 5 boys will be sexually abused before they reach age 18.
- 90% of child sexual abuse victims know the perpetrator in some way. 68% are abused by a family member.

Science
Today at room 8 room we learnt how stuff dissolves and stuff turn into gas and Miss Ravi showed us what happens when she tips baking soda into lemon juice and then it fizzed up and gas was coming out it was like a mini volcano but then it stopped then we had to sit at the tables into our house groups only one writer had to write a little recount about what happen when Miss Ravi tipped the baking soda into the lemon juice and give that person some information and details.
Then we had to go back down to the mat into our house colour groups lines and then had to do a competition each house group had to have one paper and write about Liquid,Solid,Gas 1 runner from each group had to run outside the corridor and read the paper about Liquid,Solid,Gas the runner was me and I had to remember the paragraphs and had to run back to my group and tell them then the writer had to write it down on the piece of paper and if your group comes first then you get 100 point for you house colour group and the second group gets 50 then the third group get 15 then last group gets 10
and then who ever writes it down on the paper first wins and then rata came first and we got extra 100 points. And then the bell rang and we had to go for morning tea.

Technology
Today at Technology I went to cooking tech at cooking tech you get to cook stuff you never taste before seen before and cook before and you get to cook all sort of things it's fun and at tech.
Today Me and the whole year 8's was cooking Dutch apple pie It was simple all you have to do is he gave us caster sugar in a measuring cup and we had to put it in a bowl and stir it around until its white and then she told us to add an egg in one by one me and Lennyx took turns at stirring and then we went and showed Miss Tuipolotu she said to oil up the tray so that nothing sticks to it and that it is easier to wash. Then we showed Mrs Tuipolotu and she said to slice the apple and place them nicely on the caster sugar in 3 single line and then show it to her and then she will put cinnamon salt on it then you have to put 200 time on the oven and wait for it until it's hot then put your cake in and put 15 mins on the timer and wait for it until it's cooked don't go walking around because it might get brunted and then take it out when it's gold or brown then slice it into whatever it depends on how much people you go in your group casually it's 2 people in one group but some people have 3 in a group and then eat it for 10 mins then clean up for an other 10 mins.

Kiwi Can
Today Room 10 sat down in 2 single lines and outside of kiwi can and we had to sit down and inform a circle and talk about reliability. Reliability means when someone can trust you doing the right thing and and others counting on you to be there or doing something done and after that.
We had to do our energiser our energiser was body beat in body beat you have 4 groups of people and someone will come around and say your number like say 1234 then 1234 until the last person and then if your number 1 you go to that corner if your number 2 you go to that corner if your number 3 you go to that corner if your number 4 you go to that corner then you have to come with a beat like someone claps and you make and other beat then you keep carry on until the person at the end has the last beat then you have to performer the beat to the hole class and then have to wait till the other group finish.
Then we had to go into our activity and Mr Numia will pick the numbers again and then have to go outside and do 4 square and there were two groups and played hand ball this hand ball was just one hit and next person turn like one hit and run back to the back of the line and then we walked back to kiwi can room and sat down in a circle and then talked about what we did today then did our kiwi can fraze then stand up and went back to class.

Today I learnt that we had to work out how many people was a fraction represented the bottom number was the re presenter for the fraction and the question was so we worked out that how many people walked buses, biked 90 people walked 60 buses 18 biked and I add all of them up and it was 168 but the last question was how many people travelled by car and the number total number was 180 but then it took us a very long time but i had and idea i counted the left overs until it went to 180 and the answer was 12 and then miss said how did you worked it out and i said the number was 168 for people who walked, bus and bike and then I counted the left over for the cars and my answer was right then we add up 12 and we got it right then Miss Pearce said you can take away if you 180-12=168 and 168+12=180 and the total number was 180

Late to school poem
I got up late for school today,
And nearly missed the bus!
With my toast, and caused a fuss!
I quickly threw books in my bag,
My pens, my lunch and shorts.
Grabbed my coat from out of the cupboard,
Took my bat and ball for sports.
I slid across the kitchen floor,
And hopped around the cat!
Then expertly rolled over,
Jumped back up and grabbed my hat!

GKQ stands for general knowledge questions so four people stand up and Mr Numia which is the Kiwi can instructor and Miss Tuia and Mr numia read the equation and says like what man discovered new zealand first and you have to buzz you have to turn around touch the ground and be like a chicken and say buzz then he will point at you and say what is the man who discovered new zealand first and then you’ll have to say the answer but if you don’t say it in 10 seconds then the person who buzzes then they have to say the answer and you miss your turn and the answer was captain cook and we have like this catchphrases and we had a point board which is when each class gets points for Respect, encouragement,Participate,Manners, and each class gets points and the class with the most points get a prize at the end of the term and the week after we went to kiwi can and saw the points and the points were big so then we said we can do this and then we tried hard to be good and we did but accept one team fought over the equation and then we did our points the limit point was 5 so Mr Numia said to my teacher so mrs Tofa were they respectful and she said no give them a 1 and then we all said ohhhhh and then she said nah jokes give them a 5 and then we had 21 and a half then we had more points which was the last day and then we had 130 and everyone cheered and saying WE WON!! and then they said that your teacher will decide what surprise we would had and then we would just have fruit and milk and then we said ohhhhhhhh then Mrs Tofa said Mrs Elia said we are a healthy school but then when we went to Kiwi can the next week we went inside the room and then we thought where's Mrs Tofa and the other three boys and we were wondering then about five minutes they walked in the room and we saw pizza, chicken and chips and some juice box and then we said YESSSS! and then we sat there and then Mr Numia said boys and girls go wash your hands first and then they came back and walked to the table and got a napkin and got 2 or 3 or 1 chicken and some chips and two three or one pizza and 1 juice box and sat down then it was the boys turn and we did the same as the girls and we walked and had some food and sat down and eat and then we all enjoyed our food and then said thank you Mrs Tofa and Mr Numia and Miss Tuia.
Term 1 Reflction
During term 1 our class had good times, bad times, and ugly times.
Me and some other students went to the Tamaki cluster cricket tournament. Mr Nath took 16 people to tournament, at lunch times we would go to the field and play. Mr Nath would coach us on what we need to work on. Our team lost one game out of the 5 games we played we won 4 our school came first in the tournament. For winning the people who were coaching the tournament gave us and our school some prizes.
We also had our very last Life Education session, we were learning how drugs and alcohol affect puberty. We also learnt about the 5 body systems that digest drugs and alcohol. The Five Human Body Systems-Important Facts and Activities-Circulatory, Digestive, Muscular, Respiratory, and Skeletal Systems. We will discuss the five human body systems in the most delightful way.
And also we had our very last swimming lessons with Mrs Tofa at the swimming pools we had to do some freestyle and breaststroke and backstroke and we had some people get into four lines and the first four had to swim to the other end of the pool and the other four people had to wait till we get to the other side of the pool and then they had to swim to the other side to and the people who came from out of the pool had to get back into our lines again and then we played
relays which four people had to race down and come back and touch their partners hand and they have to race and then there was no more swimming and then everyone had to get out of the pool and line up against the fence and me and siosifa and manuae had to show our swimming skills and I went first and i had to swim all the way to the other side of the pool and my teacher said look how fast he swims and then sifa was next and his skills was breathing he was breathing right and the had to swim to the end of the pool and my teacher said manuae next and her skills was her arms she swam well and my teacher said see if we had that ability together we might have a swimming team right here.
And also we had water fun day water fun day is when people have house colours and the colours were red which was rata and blue is nikau and green is kauri and yellow is kohwai and each colour and class had to go walk down to the court with their hands behind their back and no talking and go down to the court into two line and when we get down to the court we had to get into our house colour groups and each colour had a two groups like rata 1 and rata 2 same with the other teams and everyone had each activity there was the obstacle, walk the plank, three legged race, zig zag sponge, sponge race, sponge under and over, and finally the cup hold slide
race and each colour had and activity and every time when the bell rings then we have to rotate to a different activity until you reached the last activity and the bell will ring and then we had to come back to the court in two line and sit down and wait till see who the winner would be the game was all about having fun and try your best to put many many water into the house colour bins and then my teacher looked at the score and she announce the winner and she said the last team was nikau and second to last was kowhai and first was RATA AND KAURI.

Maths Problem solving
Today I did maths with my class. We did some problem solving like about litres, oranges, values it was fun.
Brandon and I tried to work out the litres it was hard. It took about half an hour to figure it out but then I finally figured it out when Mrs Tofa was marking and the answer was 13 litres and little bit more.
My favourite problem was you have $20 for petrol and each litre costs $1.50. How many litres can you get? We all answered 13 then Mrs Tofa challenged us to figure out how many millilitres we can buy with just 50 cents. We knew it is not 500 millilitres because that is half of a litre and half of $1.50 is 75 cents. We figured it would be around 400 millilitres.
I had fun doing Maths and I got a Caught being respectful card for it too.
