I hit the softball
so hard that it went real far
i ran a home run

friends cheered for me
watched my friends hit the ball
and waited again

Then we had to swap
now my team is catching now
and we speared all out

1. There are 5 main flavour receptors. Sweet, Salty, Bitter, Sour and Umami.

List some foods fit each of the flavour receptors.

Question: Do our taste buds require smell? yes because if something smells nice then it probably taste nice  

Hypothesis: i thought that is was going to taste yuck

Procedure:

close my eyes,squeeze my nose and put the jelly bean into my mouth and i’m not supposed to know the colour and taste and when i opened my eyes and let go of my nose then it will taste different

and guess what color or what flavor.

Observations: when my nose was closed and i ate the jelly bean, it tasted like sugar until i let go of my nose, the taste of the flavor was sweet and i hypothesis that it was pink and it would taste like grapefruit but it tasted like candyfloss.

Conclusion: My hypothesis was wrong.

My Holiday

Definition

The holidays are two weeks of break from work and school,between term three and four in october. Holidays is good for you to rest and spend time with your family and friends. Family is very important.

Description

During the holidays i went to tamaki college field to play rugby with Moli,Nganga,Mangila,Brandon,Alex, and five other friends. Me and my other cousin were captains we had to paper, scissors, rock.  Who ever wins you get to pick first so first I picked moli then my cousin pick my other friend and i picked moli’s brother then it goes on and on. Then we had to paper scissors rock again so he won so he decided to kick off so then I blew the whistle then the game started so I caught the ball and passed it to moli then he ran as fast as he can and got a try then the whistle blew “tooooot” TRy!! so they had to kick again then it keeps going and going until the game is over and when the game is over the team with the most points WINS!! the game. And during the holidays I went to my cousin’s birthday we had my cousin’s birthday at ten pin bowling there were heaps of machine games and bowling and laser tag. After we played some machine games we went to play laser tag with my cousin’s and family laser tag is like you go into this dark building and there’s like walls and cubes to hide and many other things so this is how you play this game you wear this light suit and you have a laser gun and run around in the dark and if you see someone shine your laser on their vest and if their vest blinks then they died and come back to life to the next round it’s simple to play and fun then we went bowling when you play bowling you have to hold this heavy ball it’s got three holes in the ball and you have to stick your three fingers in the bowling ball and you have to knock down 10 pins to get a strike and if you play on machine games theres like tickets in them and if like yo shooting ducks you have to kills as many as you can and if you

kills about thirty you get tickets and if you get 5 you can get some bands or if you get 15 you get a toy if you get 20 you get a remote control car and if you thirty the highest you get a Xbox 360

and that's what i did in the holidays.

I went to tamaki college field and took my long pants off and played in my rugby shorts  I took off my shorts because we wanted to play rugby because i couldn't run in long pants because it will give me less speed to run so they kicked off and I caught the ball and ran ran and I  got tackled and off loaded to moli and he ran and pass it to Alex and Alex gotta try a then after we played at the park to play tiggie I was running and climb and pass all of the obstacles  then ran and ran but lucky I never got caught and that's the end.

I enjoyed my holiday my favourite part was playing with my friends.

My holiday

During the first week of  my holiday I went to my nephew’s birthday. We celebrated it at rainbows end. It started at 3:00 pm and lasted 3 hours. There were so many amazing but scary rides that we could go on. But my most favourite ride was the Stratosphere which made people spew up a bit after.

We ate some hot chips and some hot dogs. They were delicious and tasty. Finally we sang the happy birthday song and ate some Birthday CAKE!! then waited for the to ride the night rides. After the night rides we left rainbows end and had another party because my nephew still wanted to celebrate his birthday and we had a big feed at his house . So overall it was a awesome birthday party.

Today was the last session we had for badminton.

I partnered up with mangilia and we played against joseph and jerome. It was fun hitting the shuttle cox because it was, like you're hitting a little man and hes like jumping off the racket back and forward ,back and forward , and it feels nice when you have victory .

My favourite thing about badminton is hitting the shuttlecock over the net. I found learning the different grips difficult.

Today was the last session we had for badminton.

I partnered up with mangilia and we played against joseph and jerome. It was fun hitting the shuttle cox because it was, like you're hitting a little man and hes like jumping off the racket back and forward ,back and forward , and it feels nice when you have victory .

Become Aware

We can become aware of our environment by reading about our plant and animal life , and the pollution of our earth in newspapers, books and magazines. We need to understand how all living things depend on one another.

zoo trip

On Friday the 4th, of April 2014 me and my school,teachers, and parents came to the zoo and the teacher put us into groups of three with the instructors, and the instructor's names are Laura,John and Richard. The first activity was going to see the keas in their enclosure. The keas had long sharp beaks,long sharp claws,and green and grey feathers.

Next Laura took us to the rain forest to see the native birds and native plants and trees.I saw a kereru and kakariki bird flying above me.I also saw the nikau tree and the mamaku tree.

Richard took us to see the kiwis in their enclosure. Before that we saw the big massive eels in the tank. Richard informed us that female eels will swim all the way to Tonga to lay their eggs and they leave it to hatch then they swim back. When the babies hatch they find they way back to their parents.

Finally it was time to explore the rest of the zoo with my group. I saw a tarantula,seal and hippopotami.I felt exhausted at the end of the day,but enjoyed seeing all the different animals.
